Prayagraj: The Legal Services Treatment Center was inaugurated by the Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority and Additional District Judge Dinesh Kumar Gautam at 2:00 pm on Friday at the Beniganj Campus of the Law Department of Allahabad Degree College. First of all, garlands and floral tributes were offered to the statue of Mother Saraswati. Thereafter, the cover picture of the newsletter ‘VOX LEGIS’ of the Law Department, Allahabad Degree College was unveiled by the guests, teachers and editorial board present. In the welcome address, Department Chairman Professor Rahul Bisaria expressed his views on the need for a legal aid treatment center and called it the need of law and time. Program Coordinator and Assistant Professor Dr. Shlesh Gautam described the importance, utility and wide scale of the Legal Aid Treatment Center as a ray of hope for the needy and said that the social utility of such a center can be understood only from the fact that such centers work as a natural, positive and quick solution bridge between the justice provider and the justice seeker.
On this occasion, Chief Guest, Additional District Judge and Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Dinesh Kumar Gautam, while addressing the students, specifically said that through the Legal Services Assistance Treatment Center, the disabled, handicapped and resource-less people of the society can be helped and simple and cheap justice can be made available to them. Along with this, the legal knowledge and ability of the students and teachers can be properly utilized.
Also to visit the referenced court and also to visit the prison and child protection centre and to obtain information so that the challenges can be resolved in time and knowledge of law and justice can also be gained. The Chairman of the function and Principal of Allahabad Degree College, Professor Atul Kumar Singh, while congratulating for this legal centre, said that the entire college administration is always ready for support and cooperation so that such a big unit of social utility can run in a creative manner and the law and order can connect the people who are without resources, helplessness and struggling with lack of information and rights.
Assistant Professor Dr. Harish Tiwari expressed his gratitude and the entire function was conducted by Assistant Professor and Coordinator Dr. Kiran Singh. On this occasion, all the teachers of the Law Department were present.
