Use of force on students highly deplorable, says Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki
Prayagraj/Lucknow: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) expresses serious concern over the irregularities in the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) examinations, administrative mismanagement, and the mistreatment of candidates, and demands a high-level inquiry and strictest action against the guilty. The recent SSC examinations witnessed serious issues such as flawed centre allocation, technical glitches, disrupting exams, and the use of force on peacefully protesting candidates outside the DoPT office in Delhi — all of which have raised grave concerns regarding the transparency of the examination agency and the entire system.
Millions of youth participate in SSC’s prestigious examinations with the hope of a better future. Mismanagement in the conduct of these exams and lack of transparency is extremely unfortunate. ABVP has always stood for integrity and transparency in all examinations. In this case, issuing admit cards only two days prior to the examination, allotting far-off centres to several candidates, technical failures at some centres, and mistreatment of candidates for raising their concerns are all condemnable incidents. ABVP strongly protests these lapses and demands immediate and strict action against the responsible officials.
Cancelling exams without prior notice clearly indicates a complete failure on part of the examination agency. This has adversely impacted the candidates’ time, effort, financial resources, and mental well-being. ABVP denounces the entire sequence of events and demands that a high-level committee be constituted to investigate the matter, culprits be punished, new dates for cancelled exams be announced promptly, transparency be ensured in centre allocation, and respectful communication be established with the candidates. ABVP appeals to all protesting candidates across the country to avoid misleading or unverified information and present their demands in a disciplined, factual, and clear manner.
ABVP’s national general secretary, Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki, stated, “The irregularities in the SSC examinations are not merely instances of administrative failure but a grave injustice to the dignity and future of the youth. Sensitive handling, transparency, and accountability must be the highest priorities in the conduct of such crucial national-level exams. ABVP firmly believes that the guilty must face the strictest punishment, dates of cancelled exams must be declared promptly, and due action must be taken on the legitimate demands of the candidates. ABVP stands in solidarity with candidates across the country and will continue to fight for justice at every level.”
