Prayagraj: In view of the devastation caused by floods in Prayagraj as well as various districts of the state, Industrial Development Minister of Uttar Pradesh Government Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, a member of Team 11 formed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, inspected the flood-affected areas of Prayagraj. He also visited the relief camps and met the flood-affected people and checked the quality of the facilities being provided to them. Minister Nandi directed the concerned officials to ensure drinking water, food, electricity, toilets, cleanliness as well as other basic facilities in the relief camps. He also assured the flood-affected people that the double-engine government is with them in this hour of disaster.

Minister Nandi reached Bakshi Dam on Sunday and from there took a motor boat to visit Daraganj, Baghada, Salori, Govindpur and other flood affected areas to take stock of the flood situation. Minister Nandi gave necessary instructions to the concerned officials to ensure all the necessary arrangements for the flood affected people. He directed all the concerned departments to remain on alert mode to deal with the flood problems. He said that adequate arrangements have been made by the government and the administration for the people affected by the flood. He said that he has come among the flood affected people only to listen to their problems and to get information about the arrangements made by the administration.

After visiting the flood affected areas, Minister Nandi inspected the flood relief centers set up in Composite School Alanganj and Rama Devi Girls Inter College-Meerapur and interacted with the people living there and inquired about the arrangements. He inquired from the people living in the flood relief center about the arrangements of tea, breakfast, food, milk for children etc. being provided to them at the flood relief center. During the inspection, Minister Nandi distributed food items to the people staying in the flood relief center. Minister Nandi directed the officials to keep all the necessary arrangements including food, water, light, medicines in order at the flood relief centers.

To ensure that people living in flood relief centres do not face any immediate problems when they go back to their homes after the flood water recedes, Minister Nandi also provided them with dry ration kits.

Minister Nandi said that 88 posts and 18 flood relief camps have been set up to deal with the floods. At present, more than 6800 people are staying in these camps. NDRF and SDRF teams are deployed on the spot to deal with the floods. Apart from this, additional teams of NDRF and SDRF have also been provided by the government.

Minister Nandi said that the situation is completely under control due to the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the promptness of the officers. Minister Nandi said that most of the people from the flood affected areas have come to the relief camp, some people have not come due to some reasons, they are also being brought to the flood relief camp after convincing them.

Minister Nandi said that those who seek opportunities during disasters and those who spread rumours on social media are being monitored and strict action will be taken against such people. During this, District Magistrate Prayagraj Manish Verma, ADM Finance Mrs. Vinita Singh, CDO Mrs. Harshika Singh, SDM Sadar Abhishek Singh, DCP Nagar Abhishek Bharti and officers of other departments were present.

Minister Nandi gave instructions to officials for relief work on war footing

* Efforts should be made to ensure smooth supply of food material in relief camps by coordinating with social organizations and forming a committee.

* All sluice gates should be closed.

* Sand bags should be prepared in sufficient quantity.

* Keep pumps running in flood affected areas.

* Health department teams and ambulances should be deployed at all relief camps.

* Launch a campaign to prevent viral or mosquito-borne diseases due to waterlogging.

* Milk, food and clean drinking water should be available for children in all camps.

* Municipal Corporation should ensure drainage along with cleaning of drains.

* Cleaning workers should be deployed in all relief camps and mobile toilets should be installed if required.

* In the areas where flood affected people have vacated their houses, the police department should monitor with complete planning to prevent incidents of theft etc.

* There should be an effective system to provide correct information to people through social media and other means so that people remain aware and alert.

* Do not create any panic or spread rumours.
