Prayagraj: Rajnikant Srivastava, State Coordinator of the Bharatiya Janata Party NGO Cell, said that India’s democracy holds a unique identity in the world, where the people themselves elect their representatives. He stated unequivocally that the “I” in India’s history will remain “Only Indians”—meaning that this country’s identity, its politics, and its elections will be based entirely on Indian values, the Indian people, and Indian interests. The concept of “Only Indians, elections by Indians for Indians” is the soul of our democracy.
He said that elections are not just a means of changing power, but a powerful test of democracy. In this respect, the West Bengal elections will prove historic and will be written in golden letters in India’s history. This election will not only influence the political landscape, but will also be a test of the impartiality of democratic institutions and public trust.
Rajnikanth Srivastava further stated that the greatest strength of India’s democratic system is its informed public, who remains vigilant about their rights under all circumstances. He emphasized that Indian elections should be conducted by the Indian people, in accordance with Indian values, so that the country’s sovereignty and democratic dignity remain intact.
He also stated that the Election Commission has a responsibility to ensure a fair and fearless environment so that every voter can exercise their right to vote without fear or pressure. It is also essential to completely prevent any illegal or outside interference in the voting process, so that only genuine Indian voters can elect their representatives.
He expressed confidence that the coming times will be a time of strengthening democracy, where transparency, fairness, and public participation will be paramount. He said that the success of democracy is determined not only by elections, but also by the credibility of institutions and public trust.
