Prayagraj: Students from the Geographic Information System (GIS) programs at Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS) have achieved remarkable success, with a total of 12 students securing prestigious placements. One student, Ronald Singh, received a standout offer of ₹23 lakh as a Remote Sensing Associate at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

This was announced by Professor (Dr.) Deepak Lal, Head of the GIS Department, who highlighted the university’s strong connections with national and international companies. “Our focus on building robust relationships with industry leaders ensures that our students have access to a wide range of top-tier career opportunities,” he stated. “This success is a testament to the high-quality education and practical skills our students acquire, making them highly sought after by prestigious organizations.”

Among the successful students, Akanksha Chauhan secured a Rs. 20 lakh package from TomTom India Pvt. Ltd., Samuel David Singh received a Rs. 21 lakh package in Bangalore, Manish Kumar secured a Rs. 15 lakh package in Jaipur, and Akhilesh Kumar Singh received a Rs. 12 lakh package in New Delhi. Other students were placed in esteemed institutions such as the Department of Space (Government of India), Map My India, Panchayati Raj Department (Uttar Pradesh), and Oilmax Energy.

Vice-Chancellor Professor (Dr.) Rajendra B. Lal extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the students. “This achievement reflects not only the dedication of our students but also the tireless efforts of our faculty members,” he said. “We are committed to nurturing talent and providing an environment where students can thrive and secure a prosperous future.”
