Prayagraj: The Department of Physiotherapy at Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS) celebrated World Physiotherapy Day today, September 8, 2025, with great enthusiasm and dignity. The event was organized to honor and highlight the crucial role of physiotherapy in promoting health and well-being worldwide.

The celebration commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting by the chief guest, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs) Professor Dr. Jonathan A. Lal, along with Professor Dr. GS Shukla, Dr. Anurag Aggarwal, Dr. Sanjay, and other esteemed university dignitaries. The inaugural ceremony was followed by a series of captivating programs presented by the students, including health awareness plays that showcased the importance of physiotherapy.

During the event, the university dignitaries were honored with mementos as a token of appreciation. In recognition of their hard work, medals were also awarded to students who demonstrated outstanding academic excellence.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Professor Dr. Jonathan A. Lal motivated the students by explaining the immense importance of their profession. He emphasized that physiotherapy is a noble service and urged them to uphold the highest standards of their practice.

“Physiotherapy is not merely a profession; it is a vital service that restores mobility and quality of life,” Professor Lal stated. “As you embark on this noble path, remember that discipline is the cornerstone of all success. It is through disciplined practice and continuous learning that you will not only excel in your field but also earn the trust and respect of your patients.” The World Physiotherapy Day celebration was a resounding success, proving to be both enlightening and inspiring for all students and participants. The program was successfully organized with the collaborative efforts of Dr. Surbhi Srivastava, Dr. Ashita Tiwari, Dr. Rajnish, Dr. Ashish Pandey, Dr. Pushpanjali, Dr. Neha Rohith, Riya Kunaan, and the entire team.
