Prayagraj: Police have registered a case under sections 316(2), 115(2), 352, 351(3), 308(4), 309(4) of the BNS Act, 2023 against Irafat Ali, Dayan Khan and unknown persons who duped a person of Rs 10 lakh in the name of selling a plot and have initiated further proceedings. It is worth noting that Sanjay Bhartiya, son of Ramnaresh, a resident of Rajpur, Cantt, belongs to the Scheduled Caste. The accused collected Rs 10 lakh from the victim in the name of selling a plot but refused to register the land. When he asked for the money back, he attacked him with the intention to kill, due to which the victim is badly injured.

The victim told in the complaint that Irafat Ali, a resident of Rajapur, who is a government employee in the railway department, had been given Rs. 6,00,000/- (six lakh rupees) by his partner Sunil Jaiswal after finalizing the deal for selling his 200 square yards of land situated in Rajapur for Rs. 10,00000/- (ten lakh rupees) to the applicant, and after taking the money in March 2025, Irafat had said that he would get the balance of Rs. 4,00,000/- in August and execute the sale deed in his favour. After arranging the remaining amount, on 3rd August, when Irafat was asked to execute the deed in favour of the applicant after taking the remaining money from the applicant, he started making excuses. Upon enquiry, it was found that the opponent had embezzled money from many people by fraud. In the same sequence, on 15/9/25, when Irafat did not pick up the phone, the victim went to the opponent’s house at around 11.00 am. Irafat Ali, Dayan Khan son of Rafat Ali, and two nephews of Irafat, whose names and addresses are unknown, were already present there and on seeing the applicant, they said forget your money. Saying this, they dragged the victim inside and Irafat pointed a pistol at him and said pay the extortion money or else I will shoot you. Out of fear, the victim immediately gave Rs. 13,000/- kept in his pocket with the intention of saving his life. On which Dayan Khan also looted the gold chain worn around the victim’s neck and said get the remaining money from home or else your dead body will also disappear, on which the victim ran away to save his life. When he started shouting for help, Irafat’s nephew strangled the applicant with the intention of killing him and all of them beat the victim badly. Somehow saving his life, the applicant called up Dial 112 and informed the police, upon which the police immediately reached the spot and started arresting Dayan Khan from the spot. The other accused fled from the spot threatening to kill the victim. The victim is badly injured and is demanding strict legal action against the accused.
