Patients no longer need to travel Lucknow
Prayagraj: There’s significant news of relief for patients in Prayagraj and surrounding districts. Swarup Rani Nehru (SRN) Hospital, affiliated with Motilal Nehru Medical College, has received government approval for kidney transplants.
The team’s inspection took place on August 30th: On August 30th, a three-member government team inspected the SRN. The team reviewed the state-of-the-art operation theater and transplant unit in the PMSSY building. Following a satisfactory report, permission was granted from Lucknow. This approval will be valid for five years.
Prayagraj becomes UP’s fifth government center: Until now, this facility was only available at Lucknow’s SGPGI, KGMU, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute, and Varanasi’s BHU. Now, Prayagraj’s SRN Hospital will be the fifth government hospital in Uttar Pradesh to perform kidney transplants.
“Now patients will have access to the facility at home”: Urology Department Head, Prof. Dr. Dilip Chaurasia, said, “This achievement is a relief not only for patients in Prayagraj but for patients across eastern Uttar Pradesh. Now, patients will no longer have to travel to Lucknow or Varanasi. Our team has worked tirelessly, and today this dream has come true.” Principal Dr. V.K. Pandey said, “This is a milestone in healthcare services and the achievements of the medical college.”
An atmosphere of joy: The entire team, including Dr. Shirish Mishra and Dr. Deepak Gupta, Associate Professors of the Department of Urology, Dr. Arvind Gupta, Head of the Department of Nephrology, Dr. Santosh Maurya, and Dr. Soumya, Assistant Professors, were congratulated on this achievement. Dr. Mohit Jain, Dr. Neelam Singh, Dr. Vatsala Mishra, Dr. S.P. Singh, and other senior professors and doctors from Prayagraj also expressed their happiness.
