Instructions to issue show cause notice warning drug inspector for his absence in review meeting
Industrial Development Minister Nandi held meet on development works and law and order
Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh’s Industrial Development Minister, Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, held a meeting with police and administrative officials at the Amar Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad Circuit House auditorium in Prayagraj on Friday to review the district’s development work and law and order situation. Minister Nandi directed officials to ensure that the priority development projects set by the Chief Minister are completed on time and with quality. Strict action should be taken against criminals by strictly adhering to a zero-tolerance policy towards crime and criminals.
Minister Nandi first reviewed the resolution of problems in the letters sent to various officials. He thoroughly reviewed law and order and development works. The meeting lasted for about four hours. On the absence of the Divisional Commissioner in the meeting, Minister Nandi said that the Divisional Commissioner should be called in the future review meeting. On the absence of the Drug Inspector in the review meeting, he warned the District Magistrate and directed him to issue a show cause notice. Minister Nandi said that the presence of senior officers from the rural areas should also be ensured in the next meeting.
During the review, Minister Nandi directed the Development Authority to crack down on those obstructing the construction of small houses for economically weaker and poor people. He suggested to the Development Authority Secretary that a proposal be sent to the government to reduce the registration fee for urban housing allotments worth Rs. 2.50 lakh from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 500, so that poor daily wage earners do not face difficulties.
When asked about the action taken last month, the District Mining Officer stated that action had been taken against 200 vehicles for irregular transportation. They had also been blacklisted. Minister Nandi instructed the Mining Officer to immediately submit records for presentation at the meeting. Within an hour and a half, the District Mining Officer presented a list of 203 cases, including 83 from Prayagraj district. The rest were from other districts.
On reviewing the name transfer, it was found that 301 cases are pending in the district for more than five years. While instructions were given to complete the disposal of undisputed cases within 45 days and disputed cases within one to six months. Minister Nandi directed that objections filed in name transfer by persons other than family and clan members should not be accepted as per rules. Also, if a single person conspires and files objections in several cases in a professional manner, such persons should be identified and action should be taken against them. The CDPO present in place of the Child Development Nutrition Department officer could not answer the questions. Instructions were given to ensure quality disposal of IGRS applications.
After the development works, Minister Nandi reviewed the law and order situation and directed the officials to take strict action against the criminals. He said that the presence of the station head of the police station in whose area crime is increasing should be ensured in the review meeting. So that the station head can tell what are the reasons for the increase in crime in his police station area and how it can be stopped. Minister Nandi said that the pending investigations should be completed within the stipulated time. So that the morale of the criminals can be broken.
Minister Nandi directed action against drug dealers through a campaign under the NDPS Act. He also directed action against criminals prohibited under the Gangster and Goonda Acts and intensified the process of banishment from the district. District Magistrate Prayagraj Manish Verma, Additional Police Commissioner Dr. Ajay Pal Sharma, VC PDA Dr. Amit, Secretary PDA Ajtit Singh, CDO Prayagraj Mrs. Harshika Singh, DFO, CMO, ADM, PD DRDA, BSA, CRO, SDM Sadar and officers of other departments were present in the meeting.
