Justice B. K. Narayan & MLA Harsh inaugurated mega event

Prayagraj: Boys’ High School (BHS) and College is celebrating 164th year of excellence in the field of education this year. To make the year eventful, the school has organized a three-day Inter-Institutional Cultural and Games Extravaganza “Alfresco 2025”, from October 28th to 30th, 2025. The function commenced here on a happy note at the Saint Patrick’s auditorium on Tuesday. Justice B. K. Narayan, Judge of the Allahabad High Court and former Chairperson of Human Rights Commission, Uttar Pradesh was the Chief Guest. Harshvardhan Bajpai, Member of Legislative Assembly, Uttar Pradesh was the Guest of Honour.
A plethora of events has been lined during the three-day mega fest. More than a dozen schools from Prayagraj and outstation will showcase their talents in the cultural and games fest. The participating schools are Bishops Co-Ed School, Undri, Pune, Girls’ High School (GHS) and College, Bishop Johnson School (BJS) and College, D. P. Public School (DPPS), Khelgaon Public School (KPS), Tagore Public School (TPS), Ewing Christian Senior Secondary Public School (ECPS), Srinivasa Ramanujan Public School (SRPS), Bal Bharti School (BBS), Vishnu Bhagwan Public School (VBPS), Shakun Vidya Niketan (SVN) and the host, Boys’ High School (BHS) and College and BHS Annexe, Holy Trinity School.
On arrival, the Chief Guest, Justice B. K. Narayan was accorded a warm welcome by the BHS Principal, D. A. Luke and the Academic Supervisor C. B. Luke. The NCC cadets presented guard of honour to the Chief Guest. The inaugural function began with an impressive March Past by the flag bearers of the participating schools.
This was followed by the melodious rendition of the School Song by the School Choir. Thereafter, the College Captain, Shreyansh Vinay took the oath. Mr. Joel Lawrence invoked the blessings of the Almighty for the success of this mega event. A video presentation on Alfresco 2024 was screened at the Saint Patrick’s auditorium. The inaugural ceremony of the cultural events commenced with the lighting of the candles followed by draw of lots. Addressing the gathering, Justice, Narayan said, “it was a proud moment for him to be at his Alma Mater to inaugurate the prestigious, Alfresco 2025 and thanked the Principal for the same. He said that his association with the school is now for three generations and congratulated the Principal for the all-round progress and development in the school, be it physical, academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
He said that whatever success he has achieved in his life was due to the school and the teachers who taught him. He said that the school has produced many stalwarts in every field who did the Nation proud and brought name, fame and glory to the school. To name a few were Amitabh Bachchan, Vikas Swarup, Lt. Gen. Rana S K Kapur, Yogendra Narain, IAS, Ajay Raj Sharma, Rajni Kant Verma, Prof LN Sharma, Prabhu Dayal, Justice Ravi S. Dhawan etc. He encouraged the students to participate in various events at Alfresco 2025 with confidence and put in their best to win a prize. He declared the Inter Institutional Cultural and Games Fest open and wish the participants best of luck. The results of the on-stage events are as follows: Colloquy: 1st – BHS, 2nd– GHS; Spin A Yarn: 1st – BHS, 2nd– Bishop’s; Sing Along: 1st – ECPS, 2nd– Bishop’s.
