Prayagraj: Amarnath Agarwal (85), patron of the Allahabad Grain and Oilseeds Trade Board and a senior businessman, died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital. His funeral procession departed from Mutthiganj and proceeded to Rasulabad Ghat, where his eldest son, Vishnu Agarwal, lit the funeral pyre.
A condolence meeting was held at the Ghat, in which the President of the Trade Board, Satish Chandra Kesarwani, said that Amarnath Agarwal was a simple person and was always ready for the welfare of the traders. His death has caused an irreparable loss to the business community.
While paying tribute, the Vice President of the Board, K.K. Agarwal, said that a peace prayer has been organized at the Agarwal Marwari Dharamshala on December 27 at 3 pm. A large number of people including former MLA Uday Bhan Karawaria, business leader Santosh Panama, Raj Kumar Sabhani, Mahesh Agarwal, Ajay Agarwal, Manoj Agarwal, Shiv Balak Kesarwani, Pappu Katra, Ramesh Chandra Kesarwani, Sanjeev Kumar, Ravindra Jaiswal paid tribute at the condolence meeting.
