Prayagraj: The alumni meet was held on Sunday at Motilal Nehru Medical College. This year, the golden jubilee of the 1975 MBBS batch and the silver jubilee of the 2000 batch were celebrated. The Principal of the Medical College, Prof. V.K. Pandey, the chief guest Prof. S.L. Tiwari, and the special guest Dr. V.K. Agarwal inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. The president of the association, Dr. Jyoti Bhushan, welcomed all the esteemed doctors attending the conference in his welcome address. In his address, Principal Prof. V.K. Pandey drew everyone’s attention to the usefulness of the skills learned at the college during their student life. Treasurer Dr. B.N. Gupta presented the annual financial report. The association honored two of its teachers, Prof. L.S. Mishra and Prof. Ragini Mehrotra, with Lifetime Achievement Awards at Milan-2025.
The conveners of the golden jubilee batch, Dr. A.K. Kulshrestha and Dr. G.S. Sinha, and the conveners of the silver jubilee batch, Dr. Shirish Mishra and Dr. Sushil Kumar, conducted the program, and all the doctors present reminisced about their old and new experiences.
Senior alumni Dr. Bhupesh Dwivedi and Dr. Rajkumar were honored for their significant contributions to the organization. Secretary Dr. Pankaj Kamra gave the vote of thanks and appreciated the doctors’ contributions in strengthening the organization. Following this, a general body meeting was held.
Secretary Dr. Pankaj Kamra thanked the media personnel and informed them that the Alumni Welfare Association is a social initiative that conducts social and scientific programs throughout the year. At the annual meeting of the Alumni Welfare Association, Dr. B.N. Gupta presented the financial accounts for the current year. The members unanimously approved the current executive committee for the year 2025. Dr. Bhupesh Dwivedi was elected as the new president of the association. Dr. Abhishek Pratap Singh and Dr. Rajneesh Tiwari from the Silver Jubilee batch have been selected as the organizing secretaries for Milan-2026.
For their memories of college life, they acquired a life goal. Milan-2025 served as a great reminder of the days that the medicos spent in their battle, as well as an opportunity to reconnect with old acquaintances and form new bonds. Dr. Sharad Jain, Vice President, Alumni Welfare stated that the Association is a social platform for all medicos and their families, and that the Association organizes numerous medical education and awareness initiatives throughout the year.
