Prayagraj: Indian Army Day was celebrated in a grand and elaborate manner, at 11:30 AM in Academic Building A of the Prof. Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) University, Prayagraj campus. Approximately 60 former soldiers, including those serving at the university and others from outside, were invited. The program commenced with the lighting of a lamp in front of the idol of Goddess Saraswati. Following this, all the soldiers were introduced and honored with flowers. The program coordinator, Dr. Utkarsh Upadhyay, also introduced the dignitaries on the stage to the audience. The Chief Guest, the university’s Chief Proctor, Prof. Rajkumar Gupta, honored former soldiers Vijay Singh and Ashok Pal with bouquets, shawls, and gifts. In his address, Prof. Gupta highlighted the importance of Army Day and praised the soldiers’ dedication to national service.
The honored senior former soldiers, Vijay Singh and Ashok Pal, shared their experiences from their service and spoke about their sense of duty to the nation. As a special speaker, former soldier Captain R.P. Pandey shared his experiences of important tasks and challenges during his service. Pandey also imparted lessons on discipline to the former soldiers and NCC cadets present. The program was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor. The Vice-Chancellor recalled the contribution of soldiers in nation-building and extended his best wishes to everyone on Army Day. The Registrar and Controller of Examinations, Prof. Vineeta Yadav, in her message, praised this tradition of honoring former soldiers. In the series of speeches, former soldier Ramesh Singh and some NCC cadets also presented their views. The program was attended by soldiers, NCC cadets operating in the university campus, teachers, students, officers, and staff members. The program was conducted by Dr. Divya Dwivedi, and the vote of thanks was given by the program coordinator, Dr. Utkarsh Upadhyay. Following the grand and successful organization of the event, the program concluded with the collective singing of the national anthem.
