Prayagraj: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Rajju Bhaiya Nagar, celebrated the Makar Sankranti festival and a community lunch with great fanfare on Thursday at the Kautilya branch of the Sangh Sthan, Shyam Lal Inter College, Kasari Masari Chakia. Satish, the intellectual head of the Prayag South Division, who was present as the keynote speaker, spoke at length about Makar Sankranti. He explained to the youth present that Makar Sankranti, one of the six festivals of the RSS, is a celebration of social harmony. He stated that the RSS is striving to address the shortcomings in society caused by caste, wealth, and social injustice. Makar Sankranti, one of the RSS’s six festivals, also strives to eradicate untouchability and old, wrong traditions, promoting harmony and self-respect. The aim of this festival is to awaken inner awareness. Dr. Keshavrao Baliram Hedgewar initiated this celebration in accordance with the characteristics of social equality, compassion, harmony, and Hindu unity, which he considered essential for society. Every festival honors some virtue. Makar Sankranti also marks the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. After years of commitment and work for social harmony, the benefits of Hindu unity are now clearly visible. On this occasion, national songs, solo songs, Amrit Vachan and prayers were also performed. After this, a community meal was organized. City Sanghchalak Ravi Prakash, City Karyavah Bhupendra, Co-City Karyavah Ravinath, Manish, Amit, Ravi, Anil, Vijay, Ramanuj, Anurag, Chandrabhushan, Ghanshyam, Neeraj, Alok, Nakshatra, Kaushik, Himanshu, Abhinav etc. were present in the program.
