Prayagraj: The cultural evening held on Friday under the Naad-Brahma Shilp Mela organized by the North Central Zone Cultural Center, Ministry of Culture, Government of India was filled with soulful presentations of devotional songs, folk songs and dance. Bhajan singer Manoj Gupta mesmerized the audience with his melodious voice. He received a lot of applause by presenting popular bhajans like “Listen to my request Hanuman Lala”, “E Chamak E Damak Kaliyan Ma Mahak”, “Magh festival fair is being held in the king of pilgrimages Prayag, let’s go and take a bath in the Sangam today”, “The rising sun sets slowly” and “All the four Dhams have come to my doorstep today”.
After this, Brijesh Pandey captivated the audience with his captivating performances of “There is a crowd on the banks of Ganga-Yamuna-Saraswati”, “Come on, mind, to the banks of Ganga-Yamuna”, “The whole world celebrates with joy when Shri Ram comes to Ayodhya”, “Everyone is happy, lamps are lit all around”, “There are cheers in the city of Ayodhya” and “Ram plays Holi in Mithila”. 11 participants gave an impressive display of their talent in the dance competition organized as part of the program. Whereas, the performances of Raju Singh, Savitri Maurya, Kaushalya Devi and Phoolchand Yadav in Jababi Birha brought alive the vibrant tradition of folk music.
