Blackout and mock drill during Operation Sindoor show positive impact

Prayagraj: Bishop Johnson School and College organized a statewide blackout mock drill on Saturday to prepare for emergencies. Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi was the chief guest. The objective of this mock drill was to minimize loss of life and property in emergency situations and to make the citizens alert, disciplined and prepared.

Minister Nandi stated that any natural or man-made disaster presents a daunting challenge, but its adverse effects can be limited through thorough preparation, commitment to civic duty, and discipline. We are all witnesses to how emergency services, especially police, health workers, and civil defense personnel, took the lead during the COVID-19 pandemic. When the administration receives support from ordinary citizens during such challenging times, defeating the crisis becomes even easier. In this spirit, the mock drill was organized to practice and train the public. Minister Nandi stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s military strength has reached new heights. Our strategic capabilities and war skills have progressed unprecedentedly. Therefore, any enemy thinks twice before eying India.

And if anyone dares to do so, the Indian Army will retaliate with airstrikes, surgical strikes, and operations like Operation Sindoor. Therefore, fearing war is futile. Nevertheless, vigilance and alertness must be maintained. A blackout is an essential strategy during wartime. We have already seen its positive effects during Operation Sindoor. Today’s blackout is a powerful homework for the future.

On this occasion, Police Commissioner Jogendra Kumar, MLA Harsh Vardhan Bajpai, District Magistrate Manish Verma, Additional City Magistrate, DCP Protocol, DCP Headquarters, Chief Warden of Civil Defence Anil Kumar Gupta, Raunak Gupta and Principal of the college along with other administrative officers, volunteers, health workers, NDRF and SDRF personnel and respected members of the civil society were present.
