Thakur worked for social justice and upliftment of deprived: Ashfaq
PRAYAGRAJ: MNREGA Bachao Sangram Chaupal was organized under the leadership of Congress Gangapar District President Ashfaq Ahmed in Gram Sabha Bhopatpur. The birth anniversary of former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur ji was celebrated with joy by garlanding his statue and distributing sweets among the children in Chaupal. On this occasion, Ahmed said that Karpoori Thakur was a prominent socialist and politician of Bihar, known as Jananayak, he was the Chief Minister of Bihar twice and Deputy Chief Minister once. He worked for social justice, upliftment of the poor, backward and the deprived. He is known for his honesty, simplicity and devotion to duty, especially by implementing reservation in education and government jobs. He was posthumously awarded Bharat Ratna in 2024. He came to be known as Jananayak for his simple life and dedication towards the public. He dedicated his life to the upliftment of the poor and the service of the underprivileged. He was always a visionary and a symbol of social justice. We should learn from his works. The program was conducted by District General Secretary Sunil Pandey.
