Prayagraj: On the occasion of the 102nd birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Jananayak Karpuri Thakur, a two-day international seminar on “Karpuri Thakur in today’s context” was organised at Hindustani Academy on the first day of the two-day international seminar.
The first day of this two-day international symposium began with the inaugural session, which included garlanding the portrait of Bharat Ratna Jananayak Karpuri Thakur, lighting a lamp, and Saraswati Vandana. Symposium coordinator Dr. Pramod Sharma then welcomed the learned guests and elaborated on the symposium’s outline and relevance.
Among the invited speakers for the inaugural session, Mr. Chandra Pal Singh said that Jananayak Karpuri Thakur was not a leader but an idea. Ashok Singh then added that Karpuri Thakur was not a leader of a particular caste but a leader of the entire society. Renowned scholar Guru Prasad Madan said that while the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Karpuri Thakur is being celebrated across the country today, despite receiving the Bharat Ratna, Thakur has not received the respect he deserves. Sarita Pandey and Dr. Manisha Sharma highlighted Karpuri Thakur’s personality and achievements through their poetry. BJP Legislative Council member Surendra Sharma said that if you have come to this world, do something that compels people to write, and write something that compels people to write.
In the second session of the program, Professor Vivek Singh said that Karpuri Thakur lives in the hearts of the people, not in the form of a ruler. Professor Harsh Kumar said that such programs should continue. Dr. Dashrath Kumar Sharma from Banaras Hindu University told many stories of his honesty and simplicity. In this two day five session seminar, eminent educationists, politicians, social scientists, researchers, as well as common people from different regions of the country participated. The programme was successfully conducted by Dr. Prem Sharma Yagik and Dr. Sunil Sen. Prabhashankar Sharma, Chhotelal Thakur, Dayashankar Prasad, BK Sharma and Jitendra Kumar Sharma were also present during the programme. The organizer of this seminar was Jananayak Karpuri Thakur Vichar Manch and the coordinator was Dr. Pramod Sharma, Assistant Professor, CMP Degree College (Allahabad University).
