In black clothes & sombre faces
Prayagraj: While every day of the holy month of Ramadan is filled with blessings and virtues, the nineteenth, twenty and twenty-first days of the month of Ramadan are known for sorrow, pain and a sad atmosphere for the Islamic world. On the nineteenth of the month of Ramadan, while offering the Fajr prayers in the mosque of Kufa, the son-in-law of the Prophet, Fatima Zahra’s husband, Hasan and father of Hussain and the first Imam of the Shias, Hazrat Ali Ibn Abu Talib Alaihissalam was injured by a person named Abdul Rahman Ibn Muljim by hitting him on the head with a poisoned sword. He was martyred on the twenty-first of Ramadan. From then till today, during the three days of the month of Ramzan, there is a sad atmosphere and no embroidery is used in the Iftaari dishes. The fast is broken with simplicity for three days. In this connection, like previous years, this year too, after the sermon in Kareli JK Aashiyana Masjid Syed Wazir Hussain, on the 19th of Ramzan, the Shabih-e-Taboot was taken out and the mourners made the atmosphere sad with the sounds of Ya Ali Maula Haider Maula. At the same time, a three hundred year old procession was taken out in the morning from Mirza Kazim Ali situated in Rani Mandi Dhobi Gali. With the Marsiyakhwani of Zaigam Abbas, the procession passed through Rani Mandi, Bachhe Chai Wala Tiraha, Chakiya Neem and concluded at Imambara Azam Hussain. On reaching the procession, the last Majlis was read by Maulana Zeeshan Haider. After the Zuhrain prayer in the Qazi Sahib mosque, a gathering was held by Almas Hasan, which was addressed by Zakir-e-Ahlebait Raza Abbas Zaidi. At the same time, the Majlis Matam started in various Azakhanas, places of worship and homes including Dariyabad Imambara Mojiznuma, Imambara Guja Khan, Dariya Wali Dargah, Ibadatkhana Al Khizra Rehmatnagar Karaili, Musalla-e-Zeeshan Karailbag to observe the three-day mourning day.
The coffin was taken out in candlelight at the Imambara of the late Matloob Hussain: An ancient gathering was held on the night of the martyrdom of Kufa, Hazrat Ali ibn Abu Talib (peace be upon him). Dr. Rizwan Haider Rizvi, while addressing, read that the guardian of orphans, the destitute, and widows, and the one who arranged for their food, was martyred in the Mosque of Kufa while fasting and praying, by a blow on the head of a man named Abdul Rahman ibn Muljim with a poisoned sword. It was said that this was the Ali who is called Mushkil Kusha (the one who knocks on the doors of the poor and widows in the darkness of the night and delivers bread so that no one would identify the house of a poor person in the daylight and defame it. Today, the same Caliph, the same leader, the same compassionate and loving person, martyred the first Imam who treated people with humility during his rule. The eyes of the devotees filled with tears after listening to the Masaib. After switching off the lights of the Imambara, the coffin of Ali wrapped in jasmine and rose flowers and velvet sheet was taken out in the candle light, then a crowd gathered from all sides to kiss and visit. Along with the Noha Khwaan Niazul Hasan of Anjuman Guncha-e-Qasimiya Bakshi Bazaar, other people recited the Purdard Nauha. Aftab Rizvi, Waqar Rizvi, Syed Mohammad Askari, Mirza Azad Hussain, Maqsood Rizvi, Kavish Rizvi, Ali Sajjad, Syed Mohammad Rizvi, Shahi Rizvi etc were present.
