Prayagraj: A public awareness programme was organised on the occasion of World Kidney Day at Swaroop Rani Nehru Chikitsalaya. On this occasion, a special diet chart for kidney patients was released by Principal Prof. Dr. V.K. Pandey and SIC Dr. Neelam Singh. In the programme, the increasing problem of kidney diseases, their prevention, timely check-up and the importance of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle were discussed in detail. The programme was organised by Assistant Professor of Nephrology Department Dr. Soumya Gupta and was led by Head of Nephrology Department Dr. Arvind Gupta and Head of Urology Department Dr. Dilip Chaurasia.
On this occasion, Dr. Arvind Gupta stated that diabetes and high blood pressure are becoming the leading causes of kidney disease today. If these diseases are kept under control, adequate water is consumed, and kidneys are regularly checked, serious kidney disease can be largely prevented. He also stated that a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle play an important role in maintaining long-term kidney health. The program was attended by Dr. Mohit Jain, Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Sreeshesh Mishra, Dr. Deepak Gupta, Dr. Santosh Maurya, along with other faculty members, resident doctors, and staff. The program’s objective was to raise awareness among patients and the public about kidney health and to encourage them to adopt a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
