Al-Quds Day: Shia worshippers offered namaz by tying black bands on their arms

Prayagraj: Twenty-three fasts of the holy month of Ramadan have been completed. Till now, the fourth Friday was observed as Jummatul Wida, i.e. the last Friday of the month of Ramadan. Friday is also falling on the 30th day of the fast, but if the moon is sighted on the 29th, then Eid ul Fitr will be observed on the next Friday, and if the moon is not sighted on the 29th, then the Jummatul Wida prayer will be offered once again on the 30th, the fifth Friday of the month of Ramadan. Similarly, following the government guidelines, prayers were offered in congregation inside the mosques. At some places, due to the large number of Namazis, the Friday prayers were offered twice in congregation.

In all the nearly three hundred big and small mosques including Chowk Jama Masjid, Shah Wasi Ullah Mosque Roshan Bagh, Chak Shia Jama Masjid, Bibi Khadija Mosque Karaili, Abubakar Mosque Karaili, Dayra Shah Ajmal’s Khanqah Mosque, Civil Lines Dhobi Ghat’s Hari Mosque, Baidan Tola’s Latar and Kangura Wali Mosque, Atala’s Big Mosque, Railway Station’s Glass Mosque, the Muezzin gave Azaan at the appointed time and the people of the Muslim community wearing white kurta pyjama and cap on their heads, along with small children and elders, headed towards the mosque.

While delivering the Khutba to the Namazis from the mosques, the Imam and Imam-e-Juma Wal Jamaat praised the virtues of the month of Ramadan, that in this month the holy book Quran-e-Majeed was sent from the sky to bring its servants on the right path, which is the purest in the world of Islam today and with devotion, every para and every letter of that Quran is followed. It is necessary to do this. The sermon also stated that we should proudly follow every line of our religion and the holy book sent by Allah, the Quran. However, if we violate the laws of our country, we will also be guilty. Therefore, Islam clearly states that the law of the country is above all else. However, as far as it is permissible, if the law creates an obstacle in our religious orders, then you should resist it, but not by violating the law. These things were stated by the scholars in their sermons during the Friday prayers. According to Syed Mohammad Askari, General Secretary of the Ummul Baneen Society, the Jummatul Wida prayer was offered after the Azaan at the appointed time in all the small and big mosques of the Sunnat Jamaat. Whereas, in the Shia Jama Masjid on Chak Zero Road and in the Masjid Bibi Khadija Kareli Saidpur, a large number of Shia worshippers came to offer prayers.

On International Day of Quds, Shia worshippers gathered for the freedom of Baitul Muqaddas by tying black bands on their arms: Like previous years, this time too the Shia community protested on Day of Quds for the freedom of Qibla-e-Awwal Baitul Muqaddas which is under Israeli captivity and appealed for cooperation in making their voice heard at the international level and liberating Qibla-e-Awwal.
