Prayagraj Division Awarded ‘Best Division Shield’ and ‘Overall Improvement Division Shield’, 92 Railway Personnel Honored

Prayagraj: North Central Railway organized a grand function for the ‘Vishisht Rail Sewa Award-2025′ at the newly constructed ‘Navprabha Auditorium’ of the Indian Railway Track Machine Training Centre (IRTMTC), Subedarganj. This function was presided over by the General Manager of North Central Railway, Naresh Pal Singh. The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the General Manager and other distinguished guests.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the Principal Chief Personnel Officer, Mudit Chandra, extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, as well as to all Heads of Departments, officers, employees, and their family members. A vibrant cultural program was presented during this Vishisht Rail Sewa Award-2025′ ceremony. Highlights included a ‘Ganesh Vandana’ and welcome song performed by Raksha Srivastava, Richa Pandey, and their team; a ‘Shiv Tandav’ performance by Aparajita Patel, Mitali Verma Patel, and their team; a ‘Kajri’ vocal performance by the Prayagraj Division’s Scouts and Guides team; and a ‘Mayur Nritya’ by the Agra Division’s Scouts and Guides team.

The General Manager honored railway personnel who demonstrated remarkable dedication and efficiency in their service to the railways. Among the awards distributed this year, a total of 69 officers and employees were conferred with the ‘Vishisht Rail Sewa Award’ for their individual outstanding contributions. Additionally, 10 railway personnel recommended for the ‘Ati Vishisht Rail Sewa Award ‘ were also felicitated. Continuing in this vein, special awards were also presented to 13 railway personnel in recognition of their specific achievements.

To foster healthy competition among the various divisions and workshops, a total of 40 running shields, trophies, and cups were awarded. The Prayagraj Division received the Best Divisional Accounts Department Shield, Rail Track Shield, Bridge Shield, Running Room Shield, Electric Loco Shed Shield, Station Cleanliness Shield (Baragarh), Operating Department Efficiency Shield, Electrical Department Efficiency Shield, Inter-Divisional Medical Shield, Rolling Stock Efficiency Shield, Best Environment and Cleanliness Shield, Safety Efficiency Shield, Passenger Security Shield, Best Divisional Official Language Shield, Best Coaching Depot Cup (Kanpur Depot), Signal Efficiency Shield, Best Performance in Establishment Works Shield, and the Public Relations Overall Efficiency Shield. The Jhansi Division received the Commercial Shield, Track Machine Shield, Overall Engineering Efficiency Shield, Punctuality Improvement Shield, Freight Operations Shield, General Services and Energy Efficiency Shield, Best Coaching Rake Cup (Train No. 22195/96), Divisional Scrap Collection Shield, and the Best Station Certificate (Maharaja Chhatrasal Station).

The Agra Division received the Traction Distribution Shield, Telecommunications Efficiency Shield, and Security Efficiency Shield. The Jhansi Workshop received the Workshop Efficiency Shield and the Best Workshop Official Language Shield, while the Concrete Sleeper Plant received the Best Workshop Accounts Shield. The Deputy Chief Engineer (Construction), Kanpur, received the Construction Department Efficiency Shield; the Central Hospital, Prayagraj, received the Best Hospital Shield; Fazalganj (Kanpur) received the Best Health Centre Shield; the Deputy Chief Signal and Telecommunications Engineer (P), Tundla, received the Work Efficiency Shield; and the Electric Traction Depot, Kanpur, received the Stores Efficiency Shield.

Addressing the gathering on this occasion, General Manager Shri Naresh Pal Singh congratulated all the award winners and shared the record-breaking achievements of North Central Railway. He highlighted that during this financial year, 46 manned level crossing gates were eliminated, and the construction of 13 Road Over Bridges and 41 Road Under Bridges was completed. Additionally, the ‘Kavach’ safety system has been installed across 751 route kilometers. Continuing in this vein, while discussing matters of revenue and the environment, he stated that revenue amounting to Rs. 292.66 crore was generated through the sale of scrap—a figure exceeding the set target. Furthermore, in the interest of environmental conservation, solar power plants with a capacity of 18.60 MW were installed, resulting in savings of Rs. 5.69 crore.

He also highlighted that, under the RPF’s ‘Operation Dignity,’ 1,096 children and 485 adults (both men and women) were safely rescued. Additionally, working towards employee welfare, 5,955 employees benefited through promotions, and 22,692 railway personnel were provided with specialized training. In his concluding remarks, the General Manager stated that this award serves not merely as an evaluation of past achievements but also as a source of inspiration for other railway personnel.

Prior to today’s event, the General Manager inaugurated the newly constructed auditorium, ‘Navprabha,’ by cutting the ceremonial ribbon. The ceremony was attended by the Additional General Manager, all Heads of Departments, the Divisional Railway Managers (of Prayagraj, Jhansi, and Agra), as well as office bearers from various unions and associations. The vote of thanks was proposed by the Chief Personnel Officer (Administration), Subodh Vishwakarma. The program concluded with the singing of the National Song and the National Anthem.
