Prayagraj: Under the auspices of District Congress Committee Prayagraj (Gangapar), ‘MNREGA Bachao Sangram Chaupal’ was organized in Dandupur Mahuli on Wednesday. The chief guest of the program, District President of Congress Gangapar, Ashfaq Ahmed, fiercely targeted the central and state governments and said that the bulldozer of BJP dictatorship ran on the rights of the poor. MNREGA was the biggest support of livelihood for the poor and women of the village. He alleged that the present ‘double engine’ government is not interested in the welfare of the poor. The tampering that the government has done with the name and basic nature of MNREGA will not be tolerated at any cost. He said, “The laborers who were unable to go out and work were guaranteed 100 days of employment in the village itself, but the government bulldozed their constitutional right. There is an outcry among the public due to inflation and unemploymentExpressing concern over the current economic situation of the country, Mr. Ahmed said that today inflation is at its peak and unemployed youth are becoming victims of frustration. The government is subservient to big industrialists and foreign powers, leaving aside the interests of the general public. Referring to the shortage of gas and rising prices, he said that today there is chaos everywhere from kitchen to market, but the government is sleeping. Local Congress workers and villagers participated in large numbers in the Chaupal and shared their problems.
