Prayagraj: A special cultural festival is about to begin in Prayagraj for theatre lovers. The North Central Zone Cultural Centre, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, will organize the grand five-day “Bharatmuni Theatre Festival” from March 27 to March 31, 2026. This festival will be organised every day from 6 pm in the auditorium of the centre, in which theatre artists from all over the country will introduce the audience to the diversity of theatre art through their excellent performances.
Center Director Sudesh Sharma informed that the festival will begin on March 27th with the play “Gudiya Ki Shaadi,” written by Samta Sagar and directed by Sanjay Srivastava. Following this, on March 28th, Girish Karnad’s famous play “Hayavadana” will be staged under the direction of Mahendra Singh. On March 29th, Sarveshwar Dayal Saxena’s acclaimed play “Bakri” will be presented to the audience under the direction of Dr. Shishu Kumar Singh. On March 30th, the play “Chandra Bedni,” written by Alakhnandan, will be staged under the direction of Dr. Neeraj Upadhyay. The festival will conclude on March 31st with the staging of the classical play “Mahavircharitram,” written by the great poet Bhavabhuti, directed by Dr. Himanshu Dwivedi.
