Prayagraj: The Asian Buddhist Conference for Peace, India National Centre is organising the 90th birthday celebrations of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama in Bodhgaya on April 1, 2026. The celebrations themed ‘Bodhisattva, Wisdom and Compassion’ will focus on the teachings of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. Lt. Governor of UT of Ladakh, Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, will be the Chief Guest at this prestigious event.
The celebrations, coinciding with the 16th Executive Council Meeting of the ABCP, will be attended by representatives from ABCP member countries viz. Mongolia, Russia, India, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, South Korea, Bhutan, Japan and Nepal. Other important participants include senior monks from different sects of Buddhism, representatives from major monasteries and temples in Bodhgaya, and Buddhist scholars and academicians. The Asian Buddhist Conference for Peace (ABCP), with its Hqrs in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, is a Pan-Asian Buddhist organization established in 1970. The primary objective of ABCP is to promote peace, disarmament and mutual understanding among nations while drawing upon the ethical and spiritual teachings of Buddhism such as non-violence and compassion.
