Prayagraj: KhelGaon Public School, Prayagraj hosts Sub Junior National Gymnastics Coaching Camp (North Zone) for three weeks of elite foundational training in Artistic Gymnastics — combining world-class coaching, holistic athlete care, and academic development under the Sports Authority of India’s TAGG initiative. LOCATION Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh CAMP PERIOD 31 March – 20 April 2026 CATEGORY Sub Junior · North Zone DISCIPLINE Artistic Gymnastics National Sports Academy, KhelGaon Public School, Prayagraj, is proud to announce the successful conclusion of the Sub Junior National Coaching Camp (North Zone) for Artistic Gymnastics, organised by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) under its prestigious Target Asian Games Group (TAGG) initiative. The three-week residential camp, held from 31st March to 20th April 2026, brought together 24 of India’s brightest young gymnasts & Coaches from the North Zone for intensive foundational training. The camp, hosted 10 Male Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) athletes, 10 Female Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) athletes supported by 04 experienced coaches and 01 dedicated physiotherapist. Over 21 days, the young gymnasts underwent rigorous daily training sessions focused on building technical precision, strength, flexibility, and competitive readiness — all under the expert guidance of their coaches at the state-of-the-art National Sports Academy facilities.

A remarkable highlight of the camp was an exclusive training session conducted by Yin Eloy Alvarez, an internationally acclaimed foreign gymnastics coach. Alvarez introduced the young gymnasts to globally refined techniques and modern training philosophies, offering an exposure that is rare at the sub-junior level in India. His sessions sparked tremendous enthusiasm and learning among the athletes and coaching staff alike. KhelGaon Public School ensured that every aspect of athlete welfare was addressed with the highest standards. The young gymnasts were provided with nutritious, athlete-specific meals carefully planned to meet the dietary requirements of high-performance gymnastics training. Accommodation was comfortable and purpose-designed for residential athletes, ensuring quality rest and recovery between sessions. In a significant addition to the camp’s recovery infrastructure, athletes were provided access to Ice Bath, Steam Bath, and Sauna Bath facilities — world-class recovery modalities that helped prevent injuries, reduce muscle fatigue, and maintain peak physical condition across all 21 days of the camp. This level of recovery support is a testament to KhelGaon’s commitment to athlete health and longevity.

The camp also featured a richly designed knowledge and wellness programme. An expert-led session on Sports Nutrition educated athletes on fuelling their bodies optimally for training and competition. A dedicated Sports Injury & Prevention Workshop equipped gymnasts and coaches with essential knowledge to train safely. Individual Athlete Counselling Sessions provided mental health support and guidance to the young participants, acknowledging that athletic excellence demands psychological resilience alongside physical strength. Adding to the holistic experience, athletes participated in an exciting Recreational Tour of Prayagraj — visiting the historic and culturally rich landmarks of the city. The excursion provided a refreshing break from training and fostered camaraderie among the team. Uniquely, the camp also incorporated Academic Classes for the young gymnasts, reflecting KhelGaon’s deep-rooted philosophy that sporting excellence and academic progress must go hand in hand. The closing ceremony was graced by Parvika Verma, Young Professional – Athlete Relation Manager, SAI NSRC Lucknow, whose presence reinforced SAI’s ongoing commitment to athlete relations and welfare. All 25 participants have been reported to the Gymnastics Federation of India (GFI). KhelGaon Public School remains honoured to have hosted this landmark camp and looks forward to welcoming more national programmes in the future.
