Prayagraj: Keeping in mind the increasing heat and the convenience of passengers, Prayagraj Division, in collaboration with various voluntary organizations, is operating free cold drinking water services at 14 major railway stations. This public welfare scheme is being effectively operated under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager/Prayagraj, Mr. Rajneesh Agrawal, and the direction of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager/Coaching, Mr. Harimohan.
Through a joint effort between the railway administration and social organizations, clean and cool drinking water is being made available to passengers during the scorching heat. This initiative aims to provide relief to passengers while also encouraging social participation and public service. Free drinking water is being provided to passengers continuously at drinking water stations located on station premises, benefiting a large number of passengers.
The stations of Prayagraj division where this system is being operated include Jai Hind Human Rights Organization and Bhala Manush Seva Samiti at Mirzapur Railway Station, Bharat Vikas Parishad at Firozabad Station, Shri Shivsundar Kand Seva Samiti at Shikohabad Station and Doctor Ali Mustafa Manav Upkar Organization at Aligarh Junction. Similarly, drinking water service is being operated by Ramgopal Dixit Mentally Retarded and Disabled Empowerment Organization at Hathras Junction, Mahant Sitaram at Phaphund Station, Bharat Scouts and Guides at Subedarganj Station and Rapido Organization at Govindpuri and Kanpur Central Station.
Apart from this, cool drinking water is being provided to the passengers by Dowry Prevention and Social Welfare Council and Bharat Vikas Parishad at Etawah Junction, Red Cross Society at Fatehpur Station, Tribal Service Institute at Manikpur Station, Sharda Devi Nishkam Seva Mandal at Khurja Station and “Aap Aur Hum Rashtriya Corruption Crime Mukti Sangathan” at Tundla Junction.
Passengers commuting to and from the station praised this initiative, saying it was extremely useful and a relief during this hot summer. Passengers expressed their gratitude to the NGOs and the railway administration. The railway administration stated that this cooperation by the NGOs is an excellent example of public service and social responsibility. Such public welfare efforts will continue in the future for the convenience of passengers, and efforts will be made to involve more organizations in this campaign.
