Prayagraj: Rabindra Nath Tagore Jayanti was celebrated with great fervor in our school Ganga Gurukulam on May 9, 2026, to honour the birth anniversary of Nobel laureate Guru Rabindranath Tagore. The celebration included special assembly which was creatively conducted and beautifully presented by the students of various classes. The Principal of the school Mrs. Madhuri Srivastava along with the coordinators and students offered floral tribute to Tagore’s  portrait followed by lighting of the lamp. The school choir  presented Rabindra Sangeet ‘ Akla Cholo Re’, poetry recitation from Tagore’s poetry, thought of the day presented by Arnabi from class 9, Charukshi from class 9 expressed her views through an article on Guru Rabindranath Tagore’s life and Philosophies

The Principal of the school addressed the students and encouraged them to follow Tagore’s philosophy of learning in harmony with nature and thinking independently. She also highlighted Tagore’s ideals of fearless thinking and creativity. The celebration helped students connect with Tagore beyond the textbook and appreciate his role as a poet, patriot and pioneer of Indian education.
