Prayagraj: “Words have the power to both heal and destroy. When words are both kind and true, they can change the world.” To celebrate the richness and elegance of our national language and to foster a deeper appreciation for Hindi literature, Girls’ High School and College organized its Annual Hindi Elocution Competition across all sections. The event was conducted over three days—7th May 2026 for the Junior School, 8th May 2026 for the Middle School, and 9th May 2026 for the Pre-Primary, Senior, and College Sections.

The competition aimed to enhance students’ public speaking skills while instilling a love for the Hindi language. Elocution, as an art of expressive speaking, emphasizes clarity, correct pronunciation, effective delivery, and voice modulation. It provides a valuable platform for students to overcome stage fear and build confidence.

The programme commenced with an opening prayer followed by a reading from the Holy Scripture, setting a serene and respectful tone for the event. Esteemed educators from various institutions were invited as judges. Participants were evaluated on articulation, memorization, pronunciation, expression, and overall presentation. Students captivated the audience as they brought poems and prose to life with remarkable conviction and grace. The auditorium resonated with the beauty of the mother tongue, as each performance reflected not only linguistic excellence but also a deep awareness of social and cultural themes.

The distinguished panel of judges expressed their admiration for the confidence, poise, and fluency displayed by participants across all levels—from the young learners of Kindergarten to the accomplished speakers of the College Section. They also appreciated the dedication and meticulous efforts of the teaching faculty. After careful deliberation, the winners were announced. The judges felicitated the achievers with certificates and books, acknowledging their outstanding performances.

The Principal, Rev. Dr. Vinita Eusebius, conveyed her pride in the students’ remarkable achievements and noted the consistent improvement in standards each year. She encouraged students to use Hindi regularly and with accuracy, emphasizing its significance as our mother tongue. The programme concluded on a patriotic note with the entire gathering standing in unison for the National Anthem.
