Division bench rules – no concrete evidence found to support allegations

Meja, Prayagraj: Dr. Shamim Akhtar, the superintendent of the Community Health Center in Meja, received significant relief from the Allahabad High Court. The court dismissed allegations made by a person against him due to lack of evidence. According to the information received, serious allegations were leveled against Dr. Shamim Akhtar like pursuing personal interests, instigating Asha Bahus to protest in the tehsil and misusing his position by ignoring government work.

A petition was filed in the Allahabad High Court regarding the matter. A division bench of Justice Saral Srivastava and Justice Garima Prasad heard the matter on Thursday. After examining the evidence presented and the investigation report, the court found that there was insufficient evidence to support the allegations.

The court clarified in its order that the case was resolved on its merits and that the allegations were not factually substantiated. The petition was dismissed on May 14, 2026. Following this court decision, Dr. Shamim Akhtar has been completely relieved of the charges. Reacting to the verdict, Dr. Shamim Akhtar said, “I had full faith in the judiciary, and today the truth has prevailed.” All the allegations against me were baseless, as has now been completely proven. I have always performed my duties honestly and will continue to do so. Improving health services is my priority.” Meanwhile, the decision has sparked a debate among health department officials and employees.
