Prayagraj: Following a memorandum submitted by advocates to Registrar General Manjeet Singh Sheoran protesting the excessive fees charged for allotment of newly constructed chambers in the High Court’s Advocate Chambers and Parking Building, the High Court administration has released a list of revised rates. This is an initial result of the advocates’ united voice.

Although the revised rates have been reduced somewhat, they still fall short of the financial capabilities of young, struggling, and ordinary lawyers. The memorandum clearly demanded that chamber allocation rates be set in a fair, practical, and in keeping with the interests of lawyers. In this regard, Advocate Manish Dwivedi said that this fight for the interests of lawyers is not over yet. Until the chambers are allotted at truly fair and affordable rates, the movement will continue in a more comprehensive and effective manner.

He said that the backbone of the High Court is young and active lawyers, and their neglect will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Every democratic and legal effort will continue to protect the rights and interests of lawyers.
