Prayagraj: Gram Panchayat youth team submitted a 20-point memorandum to the Electricity Department officials demanding immediate solutions to various problems related to electricity supply in the Manda area. The team was led by social activist Amit Pandey “Raftaar.” The memorandum included several demands, including erratic power supply, low voltage, discrepancies in electricity bills, and the replacement of worn-out wires and poles. The youth urged the Executive Engineer (XEN) and Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) to ensure smooth power supply in all villages.

The team also demanded an inspection of the quality of new electricity poles damaged during the recent storm and action against the responsible officials and contractors. Furthermore, they demanded solutions to long-standing electricity problems in Surwa-Dalapur intersection, Tisen Tulapur, Tikapur, and Khairua villages.  The memorandum also demanded an impartial investigation into the death of Dhiraj Pandey, a resident of Tisen Tulapur, due to electrocution of his cow, and action against the culprits and appropriate compensation. During this meeting, Amit Pandey “Raftaar” stated that the people of the area have been facing electricity-related problems for years, but no solution has been found. He warned that if concrete steps are not taken to resolve the problems within 15 days, the Gram Panchayat youth team, along with the public, will launch a massive public movement, protests, and siege of departmental offices. A large number of villagers, including Umesh Pal, Shubham Dwivedi, Vikas Tiwari, Vindhyavasini, Betu Dubey, Chandramani Harijan, Sinki Yadav, and Aman, were present at the event.
