Prayagraj: Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and the voice of the people, will address students in Prayagraj on July 10th as part of the nationwide campaign “Chhatraon Ki Goonj.” Addressing reporters at the Press Club on Tuesday afternoon, City Congress Committee President Fuzail Hashmi said Rahul Gandhi will extensively discuss issues such as education, paper leaks, delays in recruitment exams, and unemployment. Demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, he said that during the past 12 years of the Modi government’s tenure, papers were leaked 91 times and more than 50 exams were cancelled, bleakly shattering the future of students and leading to mass suicides by many frustrated students.
The Prime Minister’s promise of providing employment to 20 million youth annually before coming to power in 2014 not only proved false, but millions of students have been unemployed and fired. India’s unemployment rate is the highest in the last 45 years. Of the total unemployed, 65% are highly educated youth, according to data from the Ministry of Labor of the Government of India.
The government has ruined education by closing more than 100,000 schools across the country. Hashmi stated that preparations are underway in full swing for Rahul Gandhi’s “Chhatraon Ki Goonj” program. Congress members are highly enthusiastic about his arrival. The program will include participation from various Congress cells, including public representatives, the NSUI, Youth Congress, Mahila Congress, and Seva Dal. A large number of students, competitive exam aspirants, academics, and youth will also be included.
District Congress Ganga Par President Ashfaq Ahmed, Coordinator Harikesh Tripathi, Mohammad Farhan, Devraj Upadhyay, Sunil Pandey, Sartaj Mohammad, Dr. Anil Gaur etc. were present in the press conference.
