Prayagraj: On the occasion of the 8th Tuesday of the month of Jyeshtha, Bada Mangal was celebrated with great pomp and show at the Income Tax Bhawan under the leadership of Principal Income Tax Commissioner Manas Mehrotra. On this occasion, a huge bhandara was organized at the gate of the Income Tax complex. Initially, Principal Income Tax Commissioner Manas Mehrotra and Additional Income Tax Commissioner Saujanya Ranjan wished for everyone’s well-being by garlanding the statue of Hanuman Ji located at the Income Tax complex and offering Bhog Prasad. Thereafter, the bhandara was started by distributing Prasad by Principal Income Tax Commissioner Manas Mehrotra and Saujanya Ranjan.

On this occasion, the Principal Income Tax Commissioner explained during the discussion that according to the beliefs of Sanatan Dharma, the Tuesday falling in the month of Jyeshtha is also called Budhwa Mangal. There are two religious stories behind the name Budhwa Mangal. According to beliefs, in the Treta Yuga, Lord Hanuman met Lord Rama for the first time on a Tuesday in the month of Jyeshtha, hence all Tuesdays in this month are known as Bada Mangal. According to the Mahabharata period, on a Tuesday in the month of Jyeshtha, Lord Hanuman took the form of an old monkey and shattered the pride of Bhima, hence the Tuesday falling in the month of Jyeshtha is called Budhwa Mangal. During the discussion, he also said that we are all grateful to God that we are in a position to do something for society. We can, and should, spend a portion of our salary for society and the poor.
