Prayagraj: On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, a grand ceremony was held in the Pritam Das Auditorium of Motilal Nehru Medical College to honour senior and retired teachers. Senior doctors and teachers Dr. S.P.S. Chauhan, Dr. A.K. Gupta, Dr. D.K. Nigam, Dr. Manju Verma, Dr. A.N. Verma, Dr. K.J. Singh and Dr. K.G. Singh, along with several retired teachers, were honoured at the ceremony. Former Principals of Motilal Nehru Medical College, Dr. P.C. Saxena, Dr. U.S. Sinha and Dr. V.K. Pandey were also honoured on the occasion for their significant contributions to medical education, patient care and the development of the institution.
Principal of Motilal Nehru Medical College, Prof. Dr. A.K. Verma, honored the senior faculty members by presenting them with mementos. He stated that the true identity of any medical institution lies in its faculty, their tradition of knowledge, and the values of service they instill in their students. The lives and contributions of senior faculty members will always be a source of inspiration for generations to come.
The speakers described the honored faculty as “living legends” of the institute, saying they had dedicated a significant portion of their lives to developing students into competent and compassionate physicians and to selflessly serving patients. These teachers not only shaped the futures of thousands of students, but also brought positive change to the lives of millions of patients through their knowledge, experience, and dedication.
Under the leadership of Cultural Committee Chairperson Dr. Subiya Ansari, Dr. Richa Singh, Dr. Manisha Maurya, Dr. Jagriti Rana, Dr. Monica Singh, Dr. Bhavna Singh, Dr. Suryakant Ojha, Dr. Jitendra Shukla, Dr. Anil Maurya, Dr. Man Singh, Dr. Anil Singh and Dr. Santosh Singh along with other members of the committee actively contributed in the successful organization of the program.
A large number of department heads, senior faculty members, physicians, resident doctors, and students from various departments of the college attended the program. At the end of the ceremony, gratitude was expressed to all the teachers and wishes were made for their healthy, active, and long lives.
