Prayagraj: A 125-year-old historic wrestling competition was held in Pathak Pura, where wrestler Anil Yadav of Jhunsi emerged victorious. He defeated wrestler Gopal of Chitrakoot in the final bout. Gopal was the runner-up. The winner was awarded a trophy and a cash prize of 2,100 rupees.

About a dozen wrestling matches took place in this Dangal. Samajwadi leaders Manoj Pandey, Adil Hamza, Ajay Singh, Kuldeep Narayan Tiwari, Raju Rampyare Vishwakarma, Siyaram Saroj, Congress PCC member Ashish Pandey, president Raju Pathak, coordinator Anuj Pathak, Brahmalal Pathak, referees Lalchand Tiwari, Chhunni Pathak, Bachcha Mishra, Sher Pathak, Santosh Bhedi, Vinod Agarwal, Ashu Tiwari, Rizwan Farooqui, Bablu Upadhyay, Kamal Yadav, Akram Baba, Kallu Ram Agarwal, Ram Sajeevan Suman, Mahesh Agarwal and many other dignitaries were present at the event.

Addressing the event, PCC member and former secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, Ashish Pandey, congratulated the organizers and said that such events promote mutual harmony and eliminate differences. A large number of people attended the Dangal. The center of attraction was the wrestling of women wrestlers. The interesting match between Rakhi of Prayagraj and Sandhya of Kaushambi ended in a draw. Both women wrestlers were given cash prizes of Rs 1000 each.
