Thrilling final of Late Khawaja Javed Akhtar Memorial Under-15 Football Tournament
Prayagraj: The final of the Late Khwaja Javed Akhtar Memorial Under-15 Football Tournament 2026, held at the Symonds Sports Arena in Chaufatka, was a thrilling affair. YFA and Northern FC faced off in the title match. Neither team scored in the allotted time, leading to a penalty shootout. YFA displayed remarkable composure and a strong performance in the penalty shootout, winning 1-0 to become the tournament champions. Northern FC had to settle for runner-up. Football coaches Indranil Ghosh and Ravi Sondhiya were honored by the organizing committee.
In the final, Abhay Pratap Singh and former international player Prem Bhutani served as judges. They conducted the entire match in a disciplined and fair manner.
GTA wins 4-2 in senior players’ match: Prayagraj. On the same occasion, a thrilling match was played between Youngsters Club and GTA in the senior players’ match. GTA performed brilliantly and defeated Youngsters Club 4-2.
K.N. Singh, representing GTA, played a key role in the team’s victory, delivering a stellar performance. Abhay Pratap Singh also scored for the team. The players displayed sportsmanship and displayed excellent football. Narayanji Gopal and Sanjay Bhattacharya guided the teams in this match. Harshit Ojha was the referee.
