Prayagraj: India’s various philosophical traditions have been fundamentally based on the spirit of oneness, said senior literary figure and social activist Padmashree Girish Prabhune. Mr. Prabhune was addressing the national symposium on Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s Integral Humanism, Antyodaya, and Nation Building as the chief guest at the Ghalib Auditorium of Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University on Friday. The university’s Department of Mass Communication celebrated the birth anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyay, the pioneer of Integral Humanism and a great philosopher, as Antyodaya Day. Addressing the symposium organized on this occasion, Mr. Prabhune, referring to the concept of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” said that Indian philosophy offers the vision of viewing the entire human society as one family. Referring to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s ideas of Integral Humanism and Antyodaya, he said that the welfare of the last person in society was given special importance in his thinking. During this, he also shared several anecdotes from his life. As a special guest, Professor Subhash Lohe said that in Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s thinking, religion is the soul of India and that humanity is inseparable from nature. He said that India’s philosophy is an integral philosophy, in which humanity, nature, and society are interconnected. We view the land as mother and worship it. This sentiment has led to a lasting connection to the nation and a sense of patriotism in India. Presiding over the program, University Vice Chancellor Professor Kumud Sharma said that integral humanism establishes the ultimate human being and humanity, and Antyodaya provides humans with the opportunity to live a dignified life. This same sentiment is also enshrined in the Constitution.
The introductory address was delivered by Professor Kripashankar Choubey, Head of the Department of Mass Communication. The program was ably conducted by Dr. Rajesh Lehakpure, Associate Professor of the Department of Mass Communication and coordinator. Dr. Renu Singh, Assistant Professor of the Department of Mass Communication, delivered the vote of thanks. A new issue of Media Samay, a practical newspaper produced by students of the Department of Mass Communication, was released during the program, and the experimental TV news bulletin, Wardha Darshan, was also broadcast.
