Accused of missing goods worth lakhs, appeal to Police Commr for justice

Prayagraj: In order to seize valuables worth lakhs from a soldier tenant at the Arshiwad Apartments in Darbhanga Colony, under the George Town police station area, the landlord’s alleged daughter, along with her accomplices, took over the entire apartment. She is now refusing to return the former soldier’s belongings. The former soldier has appealed to the Police Commissioner for justice. In a complaint letter addressed to the Police Commissioner and others, Vinay Singh, son of Sagar Singh, a former soldier from Manas Nagar, Naini, alleged that he had rented Somendra Gupta’s flat in the Arshiwad Apartments, Darbhanga Colony, for 5,000 rupees per month. Following Somendra’s death on September 11th, his alleged daughter, along with four or five others, broke the lock and took over the apartment when the tenant was not there. When the former soldier learned of this, he fled and called 112, but his belongings have not been returned to this day. On the contrary, on asking for the goods back, the alleged daughter is threatening to kill him and implicate him in a false case. Former soldier Vinay Singh alleges that goods worth about Rs 8 to 10 lakhs including cash are in the room and he is not getting them back. He said that he has full faith in justice from the Police Commissioner and also said that if the goods are not returned within 24 hours, he will complain about it in the appropriate forum.
