Prayagraj: The Netaji Subhas Regional Centre (NSRC), Lucknow, of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) organized the ‘Sundays on Cycle’ event at Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS), Prayagraj, in collaboration with Sulabh International. The theme of the event was “Fitness, Cleanliness, and Social Responsibility.” Its objective was to raise awareness regarding fitness, regular physical activity, and various initiatives under the ‘Khelo India’ scheme. Under the leadership of Regional Director-in-Charge Shri Atma Prakash, 300 participants took part, including SHUATS students and staff, members of Yogasan Bharat, and NSRC staff. Additionally, approximately 1,500 participants from 100 ‘Khelo India’ centres across Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand joined the event online.

Notable attendees included Olympian and Arjuna Awardee Shri Abhin Shyam Gupta, Lt. Col. Gaurav Singh, Shri Manish Kumar, Shri Praveen Kumar C.M., Shri Ashish Massey (Head, Department of Physical Education), Tanveer Ahmed, Bipin Kumar Singh, Naresh Kannaujia, Abrar, Narendra, Azad, Jacob Joseph, Senior Security Officer Rajiv Singh, Aman Kumar, Rakesh Sahu, and Prof. Dr. Devi Singh (Department of Horticulture).

The event commenced with Zumba and yoga sessions. This was followed by fitness activities such as a lemon race, skipping, push-ups, and a tug-of-war. The highlight of the event was a cycle rally held within the university campus, in which students, athletes, staff, and fitness enthusiasts participated with great enthusiasm.
