Prayagraj: Under the Swachhta Pakhwada-2026, North Central Railway, Prayagraj Division, is continuously running special campaigns to maintain cleanliness on railway premises. In this sequence, on October 6, 2026, a special campaign was launched at Prayagraj Junction to clean up the garbage accumulated along the railway tracks and old garbage dumping sites.

During the campaign, sanitation workers, in coordination with the engineering department, took special care to ensure the safety of employees working near the tracks. Garbage, plastic waste, and scrap accumulated within the station yard and along the railway tracks were removed. Long-standing waste at these locations was cleared on a priority basis.

The cleanup drive also removed bushes and unwanted vegetation that obstructed track visibility and signal visibility. This made the area around the tracks clean and safe. Furthermore, the potential for insect, rat, and snake breeding due to the debris and bushes was also reduced.

Apart from this, the garbage accumulated around the level crossings, gate lodges, cabins and residences of railway employees located along the tracks was also removed. The garbage collected during the campaign was segregated on the spot so that it could be sent to the appropriate place and disposed of scientifically. During the Swachhta Pakhwada, Prayagraj Division is continuously carrying out cleanliness activities at railway stations, tracks and other railway premises. The objective of these campaigns is to keep the railway premises clean as well as to provide a safe and better environment for passengers and railway employees.
