As part of the service week, the Lions Club of Allahabad City provided service at the leprosy ashram in Karelabagh. The ashram houses approximately 50 male and female patients, along with approximately 80 other people, including their families. Keeping their daily needs in mind, the club provided essential daily items to all residents. Each leprosy patient received toothpaste, a toothbrush, a large bottle of oil, a large bath soap, laundry soap, biscuits, and bananas.
Club President Lion Kalpana Agarwal provided 25 T-shirts to the male patients residing at the ashram. Club Secretary Lion Meena Madhyan distributed sweets. More than 15 Lions members enthusiastically participated in this service. Region Chairperson Lion Vishal Khare and Zone Chairperson Lion Sanjay Chadha, Mayor Ajay Awasthi, Anoop Singh, Piyush Agarwal, Inder Madhyan, Savita Singh, D.K. Kesarwani, and others were also present.
Media Chairperson Lalu Mittal said this service was extremely meaningful, satisfying, and heartwarming. The excitement and joy on the faces of the leprosy ashram residents was evident upon receiving essential daily items.
