Grand Kumbh of books kicking off Oct 9, with Bookwala Book Carnival
Prayagraj: On the occasion of Durga Puja, a grand celebration of knowledge, literature and culture, Bookwala Book Carnival 2026, is being organised in Prayagraj. The grand inauguration of the book fair will take place on October 9 at 5:30 pm at Laxmi Narayan Vatika, Louder Road, opposite Saraswati Netralaya, Prayagraj. CA Vinay Goyal, Jayanti Convener, Shri Agrasen Agrawal Samaj; CA R.K. Agrawal, Senior Member, Shri Agrasen Agrawal Samaj; Shri Manoj Agrawal, Senior Vice President, Shri Agrasen Agrawal Samaj; Shri Ravindra Kumar Gupta, Director, Patanjali Group of Schools and Rotarian Ajay Sharma, President Rotary Platinum and District Secretary will be present as the Chief and Special Guests in the inaugural ceremony.
The book fair, which will be held from October 9th to 18th, 2026, will run daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Admission to the fair is free, and parking is available for visitors at Gate No. 2. This year’s theme is “A Celebration of Books, a Confluence of Knowledge, Literature, and Culture.”
Publishers and booksellers from various cities across the country are arriving at the Bookwala Book Carnival with their books. For book lovers, this fair will provide an opportunity to view and purchase books on a variety of subjects and interests all under one roof. Entertaining and informative books for children, academic and competitive exam books for students, and books on Hindi and English literature, as well as general knowledge, religion, spirituality, art, and other subjects for literature lovers will be available.
The fair will provide book lovers with the opportunity to meet publishers and authors from various cities and states, and to connect directly with literature. This will provide readers with the opportunity to become acquainted with new authors, new books, and various publications.
Open mics and various cultural programs will be held daily during the book fair. A writing group from Prayagraj, Arj Hai, will present new programs daily. Meanwhile, the Rakt Sankalp organization will raise awareness about voluntary blood donation.
