Prayagraj: The grandeur of Ramlila is being seen on the auspicious occasion of Navratri in Prayagraj, the city of religion and culture. Live scenes of Lord Shri Ram’s pastimes are being enacted on various platforms, but this time on the stage of Shri Shri Bal Ramlila Samiti located in Civil Lines, such an act was seen which is being discussed in the entire city. Prayagraj’s local artist Sudhakar Singh mesmerized the audience by bringing alive the character of Tadka with his powerful acting skills. Many child artists displayed their art in the staging of Tadka Vadh and Marich-Subahu episode organized on the third day of Navratri, but the limelight of the entire evening belonged to Sudhakar Singh. As soon as he entered the stage as Tadka, his powerful dialogues, intimidating and impressive gestures, and aggressive demeanor held the audience rapt. During the climactic moment of Tadka’s killing, when Rama, Lakshmana, and Tadka confronted each other on stage, Sudhakar Singh’s vibrant and masterful performance filled the entire pandal with thunderous applause. Committee President Amit Singh stated that Sudhakar Singh’s portrayal of the sage Vishwamitra asking King Dasharatha for Rama and Lakshmana and freeing the forest from the terror of demons, presented a new example of spirituality and theatrical excellence. The venue has been decorated with impressive and grand lighting, and hundreds of devotees are arriving daily. However, Sudhakar Singh’s exceptional performance in this year’s Ramlila will long be etched in the memories of theatre lovers in Prayagraj.
