Prayagraj: On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, Northern Football Academy organised its annual Diwali Ground (Football Ground) Puja on 5th November 2026 (Thursday) at the football ground of Vishnu Bhagwan Public School, Jhalwa, Prayagraj. The event was attended by the academy’s football players and coaching staff. According to the Academy’s Head Coach, Indranil Ghosh, the programme included the worship of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi. The football ground was beautifully decorated with 1,540 candles, creating a spectacular and festive atmosphere.

Northern Football Academy was established in January 2015, and since its inception, the academy’s players and coaches have been observing the tradition of performing Diwali Ground Puja every year to mark the festival of lights. The programme was attended by Dinesh Kumar Srivastava, Principal of Vishnu Bhagwan Public School; Harshit Ojha, Ivan Singh, Nishant, Aniket, Veer, Sparsh, Rakshit, Shreyansh, Arnav, Shivansh, Sanchit, Saksham, Prakhar, Rudra, Rudraksh, Vaibhav, Harsh, Swastik, Shivendra and Shreshth, along with all the trainees and their parents.

Also present on the occasion were Sushil Kumar, a former Uttar Pradesh team player who represented the state in national-level competitions, Pinki Ghosh, Nitya Ghosh and other football players. On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, Abhishek Tiwari, Director of Vishnu Bhagwan Public School, extended his heartfelt Diwali greetings and best wishes to everyone.
