Prayagraj: The City Congress Committee workers paid floral tributes to Bharat Ratna and the architect of the Constitution, Bodhisattva Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, on his 135th birth anniversary. Under the leadership of City President Fuzail Hashmi, party men garlanded his statue at the High Court Crossing and remembered his contribution to the nation building.
In the shridhnjali Sabha , Senior Congress leader Shekhar Bahuguna said that he was a pioneer of social justice and equality, who struggled throughout his life to eradicate untouchability and inequality. Bahuguna said being a writer and philosopher, he was the champion of Dalits and backward classes. Bahuguna said that Dr. Ambedkar’s life itself is a saga of struggle. Born in an untouchable family, the insult, discrimination, and suffering he endured became a resolve for change within him. “Educate, Organize, and Agitate” was not just his slogan but a formula for social revolution. The Congress has taken a pledge to carry forward the dreams of Ambedkar. he also opined that Ambedkar was an institution, who was given the task of uniting Indians and ensure justice to the last person standing in society’s queue.
