Prayagraj: SMCIC conducted its Investiture Ceremony 2026 with great dignity and enthusiasm, formally inducting the newly elected Student Council for the academic session 2026-27. The ceremony reflected the institution’s commitment to nurturing leadership rooted in integrity, discipline, and responsibility.

The ceremony commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by an invocation, Scripture readings, and a graceful prayer dance that created an atmosphere of reverence and positivity. A captivating cultural presentation by the students of Class XII-B on the theme “Torchbearers of Excellence” highlighted the true essence of leadership through creativity expressed by the lively characters of Willy Wonka and the Oompa Loompas.

The mellifluous renditions of the school choir, harmoniously accompanied by the vibrant beats of the band, further elevated the grandeur of the occasion. The students also paid tribute to distinguished ex-SMCites who now hold esteemed positions in society, acknowledging the institution as the foundation that nurtured their confidence, character, and aspirations.

The most significant segment of the ceremony was the formal induction of the Student Council. The newly elected leaders were invested with badges and sashes, symbolizing the official assumption of their responsibilities. During the oath-taking ceremony, the council members pledged to uphold the ideals and values of the institution with sincerity, fairness, and dedication.

The manager, Rev. Sr. Sumita Cj, blessed the newly appointed council members and urged them to uphold the cherished motto that has long served as a guiding beacon: ‘Hope Lightens Work.’ Addressing the gathering, Head Girl Fatima Mariyam expressed gratitude for the trust placed in the council and highlighted the important role of a leader as a potential team member.

The principal, Rev. Sr. Lissy CJ, in her inspiring address, reminded the students that true leadership is reflected through actions and the courage to choose what is right over what is easy. She also emphasized the virtues of humility and loving service that lie at the very heart of leadership. The presence of dignitaries, faculty members, and parents added grace and significance to the occasion.
