Week-Long Competitions and Cultural Events Concluded with Prize Distribution Ceremony
Prayagraj: Nazareth Hospital organized a grand closing ceremony for the week-long celebration of International Nurses’ Day 2026, which commenced on 03 May 2026. The programme was conducted with great enthusiasm, dignity and vibrant participation to honour the dedication, compassion and valuable contribution of the nursing fraternity towards healthcare services. The celebration began with a prayer service led by Fr. Isidore D’Souza, who appreciated the selfless service and commitment of nurses and described nursing as one of the noblest forms of humanitarian service. A cake cutting ceremony was also organized in the presence of hospital administration, senior officials and representatives from the nursing department.
During the Nurses’ Day celebration week, several competitions and creative activities were organized, including: Group Dance Competition, Skit Competition, Fancy Dress Competition, Mehendi Competition, Poster Making Competition, Rangoli Competition, Reels Making Activity , Nursing Quiz Competition, Singing and Cultural Performances, Motivational Activities, Team Building Activities and Various Cultural Programmes. Nursing staff and employees from different departments actively participated in all events and showcased remarkable creativity, teamwork and talent.
The Group Dance Competition featured energetic and theme-based performances highlighting patriotism, healthcare awareness, unity and nursing service. The Skit Competition presented meaningful messages related to patient care, hospital life and social awareness through creative acting performances. The Fancy Dress Competition added colour and excitement to the programme, where participants represented various inspiring and social characters. As part of the celebration, specially prepared reels by the nursing staff were also displayed, presenting inspiring moments from hospital life, teamwork and nursing services. The audience highly appreciated these creative presentations.
On this occasion, Fr. Vipin D’Souza addressed the gathering and appreciated the tireless dedication and compassionate service provided by nurses. He stated that nurses are the backbone of the healthcare system and a constant source of hope and healing for patients.
The closing ceremony also included a prize distribution programme in which winners of various competitions were honoured with prizes and certificates. Hospital administration and guests congratulated all participants and encouraged them for their enthusiastic involvement.
The successful organization of the entire celebration was made possible through the collective efforts of the hospital administration, nursing department, quality team, sound and light team, backstage coordinators and all supporting staff members. The role of the organizing committee and anchoring team was highly appreciated for ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme.
