For environmental protection on World Environment Day
Prayagraj: Just before World Environment Day, the Vishwa Janchetna Trust India, Sanskritik Chetna Shakti, and Yuva Chetna Shakti organized a massive public awareness and tree planting campaign to promote environmental protection, water conservation, air purification, and the Green Revolution. On this occasion, Trust officials, members, and volunteers planted trees at various locations, raising awareness about the environment and spreading the message of nature conservation.
During the program, people were informed about the importance of various types of fruit-bearing, shady, and medicinal trees. During the public campaign, people were told that trees not only help maintain environmental balance, but also play a vital role in the protection of human life, animals, birds, climate, and biodiversity. The qualities and usefulness of neem, peepal, banyan, amla, arjun, drumstick, and other medicinal and fruit-bearing trees were also highlighted in detail.
The campaign conveyed the message that simply planting trees is not enough; their regular protection, irrigation, nutrition, and safety are equally important. Protecting planted trees until they become trees is truly environmental service. A call was also made to prevent unnecessary cutting of old and large trees and to increase public participation in their conservation. Increasing pollution, depletion of water sources, declining groundwater levels, and deforestation are posing serious challenges to human civilization. These problems can only be addressed through public participation, tree planting, water conservation, the use of clean energy, and the adoption of an environmentally friendly lifestyle.
The Trust appealed to the general public to plant as many trees as possible in their homes, schools, offices and surrounding areas, reduce the use of plastic, stop wastage of water and take active part in every effort for environmental protection.
Vishwa Janchetna Trust India has been organizing programs related to environmental protection, water conservation, tree plantation, cleanliness and public awareness from time to time and this campaign will continue in the future also.
