During meeting between MP & GM NC Rly
Prayagraj: A 5-point demand letter was submitted to the General Manager of North Eastern Railway for the development of Rambagh station, expansion of passenger facilities and strengthening of regional rail connectivity. Vinay Kushwaha, representing MP Ujjwal Raman Singh, in the meeting of North Eastern Railway General Manager and MPs in the auditorium of Varanasi Divisional Railway Manager’s office, highlighted the main demands of Prayagraj. Construction of Foot Over Bridge (FOB) in Malakraj Prayagraj Due to the widening of Malakraj and construction of two new railway lines by the Railways in Prayagraj, local traffic has been badly affected. Due to this, about 10 thousand residents of Malakraj have become completely unable to travel towards Rambagh. 1B Special NER has requested for immediate construction of a Foot Over Bridge (FOB) in Prayagraj.
Direct train service from Rambagh Prayagraj to Tirupati Balaji and Rameshwaram
Prayagraj is a major center of religious faith and cultural heritage across the country, attracting millions of devotees from both India and abroad to the Triveni Sangam. The lack of direct rail service from here to the major pilgrimage sites in South India (Tirupati Balaji and Rameswaram) poses significant difficulties for travelers. In the public interest, there has been a demand for a direct train service from Prayagraj to Rameswaram for Tirupati Balaji.
Developing Rambagh Station as a “Model Station” Rambagh (Prayagraj) is a vital station, attracting millions of passengers from across the country during the Kumbh Mela and Magh Mela. Given this significant traffic, a demand has been made to operate additional trains from Rambagh Station and develop it as a model station by equipping it with modern facilities.
Representative Vinay Kushwaha urged passengers to have radium/LED station nameplates easily visible from trains. For the convenience of passengers, station nameplates should be written in large letters using radium or large LED lights. This will allow passengers to easily read the station name even from the window of a moving train, avoiding inconvenience.
He stated that the operation of AC and non-AC parcel trains was demanded in the interest of regional farmers and traders.
This would make the transportation of fruits and other essential commercial goods accessible, safe, and significantly cheaper locally. During the review meeting, the General Manager assured that the technical aspects of the Foot Over Bridge (FOB) at Malakraj would be examined soon and necessary steps would be taken. Furthermore, keeping in mind the upcoming Mahakumbh, proposals for the rejuvenation of Rambagh station and the operation of new trains would be sympathetically considered and appropriate action would be taken. The meeting was attended by the DRM of Varanasi Division, along with all the major department heads and senior railway officials of North Eastern Railway Headquarters.
